Pearlyn Lee
Pearlyn Lee, AThR, believes that the arts have the potential to express what words may fail to convey. With a wealth of clinical experiences both in Singapore and Australia, Pearlyn’s work focuses on building mental health and wellbeing through the therapeutic qualities of art and mindfulness practices. In 2013, Pearlyn set up the art therapy service at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) where she continues to practice, working with both women and children. The art therapy service in KKH currently addresses areas in mental health, child protection, medical challenges and palliative care. In addition, Pearlyn has worked closely with her colleagues on projects such as a hospital-wide child-friendly training initiative, and a transdisciplinary art and music therapy group programme for individuals in extraordinary circumstances. Pearlyn also developed a mindfulness-based art therapy group programme for adults in the community through her work with Shan You Counselling Centre.
Pearlyn is a professional member of the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA) and the Art Therapy Association of Singapore (ATAS). She received her Master of Art Therapy from La Trobe University (Australia).
