Workshop Topic:
Mindfulness & Cancer Care
This workshop is for people with cancer, their families, and health professionals working in oncology. We will explore mindfulness in the context of cancer, by learning some simple everyday practices that can help us feel steadier and more grounded. There is good evidence that mindfulness-based practice reduces levels of anxiety and depression and improves well-being and sleep for people with cancer – although this workshop can obviously only offer a taste of these approaches. MBCT for Cancer was developed by Trish Bartley, over 20 years of teaching people with cancer in a regional oncology hospital in the UK.
